eSIM support varies by region and variant, if yours is borderline, ask us and we will check it against the manufacturer.
Every iPhone from the XS (2018) onward supports eSIM, except models sold in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau, which use two physical SIMs. US models of the iPhone 14 and newer are eSIM-only, with no SIM tray at all. The foldable iPhone Duo is eSIM-only in every market. Newer Apple devices generally support eSIM. iPhones bought in mainland China or Hong Kong use dual physical SIM and have no eSIM. The iPhone Duo is the exception: it has no SIM tray in any market.
Galaxy S20 (2020) and newer, the full Z Fold and Z Flip range, and a growing set of A-series mid-rangers. Some regional versions of these models do not support eSIM. The Galaxy S20 Hybrid Dual SIM variant and China/Hong Kong S23 FE units have no eSIM.

Pixel 3 units from Australia, Taiwan or Japan, and Pixel 3a units from Japan or Verizon, have no eSIM. Pixel 2 works on Google Fi only.

Global ROM firmware is required, the China ROM disables eSIM at system level. The Xiaomi 12T (non-Pro) has no eSIM.
