Pakistan is the market we are asked about most, and the questions are always the same ones: which network does it use, will it work on a Non-PTA phone, what does it cost, and what happens if something goes wrong. This guide answers all of them in one place, with nothing left in the small print.
If you only want the short version: it is a data-only eSIM for Pakistan that runs on Jazz, gives you unlimited data for twelve months from one payment, works on PTA and Non-PTA handsets, and includes unrestricted hotspot. The rest of this page explains each of those points properly.

What you actually get
One eSIM, one country, one payment. The Pakistan eSIM gives you:
- Unlimited data for 12 months. No monthly bundle to renew and no daily allowance to watch. The network operator's Fair Usage Policy applies, which we explain honestly further down.
- Hotspot included. Share the connection with a laptop, a tablet or the rest of the family. Hotspot is not metered separately.
- Data only. The eSIM does not come with a phone number. Your existing SIM stays in the phone, so calls, SMS and WhatsApp on your own number carry on exactly as before.
- 24/7 support on WhatsApp for the whole twelve months, from people who set these eSIMs up every day.
There is no contract, no automatic renewal and no card on file. When the twelve months are up, you decide whether you want another year.
Which network it runs on
In Pakistan our eSIM runs on Jazz, one of the country's largest mobile networks. You do not need to choose a network or change anything in your settings for that: once the eSIM is installed and set as your data line, your phone connects to Jazz on its own.
Datainfinite is an independent eSIM reseller. We do not own a mobile network; we buy the connection from licensed carrier partners and handle the setup and support ourselves. What matters to you is the network your phone actually connects to in Pakistan, and that is Jazz.
Coverage: cities, provinces and the north
The eSIM covers the whole of Pakistan rather than a single city. Wherever Jazz has a 4G signal, you have data: Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Peshawar, Quetta, Hyderabad, Sialkot and the smaller towns between them, across Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, and in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Two honest caveats apply to every network in Pakistan, not only to ours:
- Remote valleys and mountain roads are thinner. In the far north and in sparsely populated parts of Balochistan, coverage depends on where the towers are. Expect strong service in towns and gaps between them.
- Speed varies with load. A busy area at a busy hour is slower than the same area at midnight. We do not promise a fixed speed, because nobody honestly can.
If you are unsure about a particular area, tell us the town on WhatsApp before you buy and we will tell you what to expect there.
PTA and Non-PTA phones
This is the question we get more than any other, so here is the straight answer.
In Pakistan, a handset brought in from abroad has to be registered with the PTA (Pakistan Telecommunication Authority) for local SIMs to keep working in it. An unregistered, Non-PTA phone usually works on a local SIM for a short grace period of about 60 days, and is then blocked from local networks.
Our eSIM keeps working on a Non-PTA phone after that 60-day period. It is not a local Pakistani SIM, so that block does not stop it. A PTA-approved phone works too, of course. In both cases the eSIM sits alongside whatever SIM you already have.
What does stop an eSIM is the phone itself, and that has nothing to do with the PTA:
- The phone must support eSIM. Many do; some popular models do not.
- It must not be carrier-locked or factory-locked. A phone locked to one carrier will refuse any other profile.
- It must not be JV (Joint Venture) restricted. A JV handset is SIM-locked to a specific foreign carrier under contract, and it blocks activation whatever the hardware supports.
Send us your exact model on WhatsApp before you pay and we will confirm it. That check is free, and it is the single best way to avoid a problem.
Which phones support eSIM
As a rough guide, these usually work:
- iPhone from the XS (2018) onward, except models sold in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau, which use two physical SIMs and have no eSIM.
- Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer, the Z Fold and Z Flip range, and a growing number of A-series phones. Some regional versions do not support eSIM.
- Google Pixel 3 and newer.
- Selected Xiaomi, Motorola, OPPO, Vivo and other models, depending on the exact variant.
Our device list has over two hundred models, and you can check yours on your own phone in about thirty seconds with our guide Does my phone support eSIM?. If the list and your phone disagree, trust the phone and ask us.
Price and how you pay
The price card above shows today's price for Pakistan. Two things are worth knowing about it:
- It is one payment for the full year. There is no monthly charge. Divide the price by twelve and compare it with what you spend on monthly data bundles now.
- Resellers pay less per eSIM. If you are buying ten or more eSIMs in one order, the lower reseller rate applies to each one. Shops, agents and businesses can read more on our business page.
Buying is deliberately simple. You place an order, and no payment is taken at that point. We confirm your handset and send an invoice with the payment details. Once it is paid, your QR code arrives by email and WhatsApp. We never ask for card details on our website. You can also message us on WhatsApp and do the whole thing there, and in-person handover can be arranged in some cities.
The Fair Usage Policy, explained honestly
"Unlimited" means there is no fixed daily or monthly data cap: you do not run out of data and you do not have to top up. It does not mean the network will never manage your speed.
Like every mobile network, the operator has a Fair Usage Policy. Under it, speed may be managed during periods of exceptionally heavy use or network congestion, so that the service stays usable for everyone on that tower. For normal use, including streaming, video calls, navigation and working from a laptop on hotspot, most people never notice it. We would rather tell you this up front than have you discover it later.
Hotspot and using it as home internet
Many of our Pakistan customers use the eSIM as their main internet connection, sharing it from the phone to a laptop or a TV. That is fine: hotspot is included and not counted separately.
A few things make it work better:
- Keep the phone near a window or on an upper floor; walls cost more signal than distance does.
- Plug the phone in while it is sharing. Hotspot uses battery quickly.
- If more than one person is streaming, expect each stream to be slower. The connection is shared, not multiplied.
Our hotspot guide covers setup on iPhone and Android step by step.
Setting it up
Installation takes about five minutes and is the same on every phone:
- Connect to Wi-Fi.
- Open your phone's eSIM or Mobile Data settings, choose Add eSIM, and scan the QR code we sent you.
- Let it finish. Activation can take up to ten minutes; do not restart or cancel it halfway.
- Set the new line as your default data line and switch Data Roaming on for it. This step matters: without roaming switched on, the eSIM will not connect.
- Wait for 4G. The phone may show E at first; it moves up to 4G within a few minutes.
The full walkthrough is in How to install an eSIM in about five minutes.
If something goes wrong
Almost every problem we see in Pakistan is one of three things, and each has a quick fix:
- Data stops for a moment. Turn mobile data off, wait five seconds, and turn it back on.
- The phone shows E and stays there. Turn Airplane Mode on for ten seconds and off again, restart the phone once, and check that Data Roaming is on for the eSIM line.
- No connection at all after installing. Check that the eSIM is set as your data line. If it still does not connect, message us; we answer around the clock.
Refunds
We confirm your phone and your price before you pay, so most problems never happen. If they do, our Refund Policy sets out exactly what happens: an order can be cancelled for free before it is paid, a paid order is refunded in full if it is cancelled before the QR code is issued, and if we cannot get a compatible phone working on our partner network, we replace the eSIM or refund you. An installed eSIM cannot be refunded for a change of mind, because the profile is tied to the device it was installed on.
Our eSIM or a local Pakistani SIM?
A local SIM is a good product, and for some people it is the right one. The differences are practical:
- Registration. A local SIM is issued against your CNIC with biometric verification at a franchise. Our eSIM is delivered by QR code.
- Non-PTA phones. A local SIM stops working in a Non-PTA phone after the grace period. Ours keeps working.
- Bundles. Local data usually comes in daily, weekly or monthly bundles that run out and need renewing. Ours is one payment for twelve months.
- Your number. A local SIM gives you a Pakistani number; ours is data only. If you need a local number for calls, OTPs or bank messages, keep a local SIM for that and use our eSIM for data.
Traditional eSIMs vs Datainfinite in Pakistan
The differences that matter in Pakistan: data, duration, coverage and support.
One package: a 12-month unlimited-data eSIM for Pakistan, paid once. It covers the whole country, all four provinces, AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan, with unrestricted hotspot, 4G on Jazz, and about five minutes to set up.
We support PTA-approved and Non-PTA devices, and a Non-PTA handset keeps working on our eSIM after the 60-day PTA period. The only restriction is that the device must not be factory locked or JV (Joint Venture) restricted. A JV handset is SIM-locked to a specific foreign carrier under contract, which blocks activation whatever the hardware supports. Send us your device model on WhatsApp and we will confirm before you buy.
Datainfinite is an independent eSIM reseller. We do not own a mobile network: we buy data wholesale from licensed B2B carriers such as Telnyx, 1GLOBAL, Telna and BICS, choose the best route for each country, and handle setup and 24/7 support ourselves. Your eSIM runs on local partner networks in the country you choose.
We offer both. Order online through our support team, or arrange a face-to-face transaction. Reach us on WhatsApp or by email to get started.
In very rare cases the connection may appear to pause. The fix is instant: turn OFF mobile data, wait 5 seconds, then turn ON mobile data again.
Turn Airplane Mode ON for 10 seconds and back off, restart the handset once, and confirm Data Roaming is enabled. If it persists, message our support team, we are here 24/7.
Your eSIM may not work in China due to several factors. Check if your device is compatible with local networks, ensure that the eSIM is activated correctly, and verify that you have a valid data plan. Additionally, confirm that airplane mode is off and that network settings are properly configured.
Handsets bought in mainland China or Hong Kong are the usual cause: those models ship with dual physical SIM and no eSIM hardware at all. Send us your exact model on WhatsApp and we will confirm before you buy.
Still not sure whether it suits you? Send us your phone model and the town where you will use it, and we will give you a straight answer before you spend anything.
